Fret Dress - £78.00
A fret dress is necessary if your Electric or Acoustic guitar, has flattened frets from years of playing, flat spots on certain frets and from buzzing that is not related to any other issues, determined during our evaluation. Worn frets not only can cause buzzing but can also create intonation problems.
The neck on your Guitar will be adjusted to be as straight as possible on a fretting jig, then we will level the frets and round the frets in using a diamond fret file. Lastly we will sand & polish up the frets, treat the neck, Re String and set up your guitar as per your instructions or to a standard industry specification.
Fret Job - from £150.00
A fret job, Acoustic or Electric, is necessary when there is just not enough fret wire left for us to level & round in the frets, determined during our evaluation.
When a fret job is necessary, we pull out your old frets, adjust the neck to be as straight as possible, level the fret board, replace the frets either on a like for like basis or with a pre determined fret wire, fret dress the new frets, Re String and set up your guitar.
Improvements/Alterations
Replacing the Nut - £36.00 Prices Includes the Bone or Graphite
The best way to increase the tone of either your Electric or Acoustic is to replace the nut to bone. Bone is a far superior material for transferring Tone and is much denser than any plastics used, allowing the frequencies to travel faster therefore creating a better tone. Graphite is also a great alternative and is especially good for guitars with tremolo systems due to less friction in the nut.
The more noticeable change when changing to Bone is heard acoustically as well as creating more sustain.
For this we will take out your old Nut, cut & sand you a new one from a bone blank, file in the strings slots, back file the Nut and then restring your guitar.
Replacing 12 String Nut - £46.00
Replacing the Saddle (Acoustic Only) - £42.00 Price Includes Bone
Replacing the saddle on your acoustic will bring you the most obvious tonal increase, replacing the Nut & Saddle will greatly improve the tone of your guitar.
For this we will make you a new Bone saddle, either a Traditional Style Saddle or a B Bump style saddle. The later gives your guitar better Intonation and is highly recommended to get the best tuning possible.

Repair Broken Headstocks - from £80.
Broken headstocks are unfortunately a common occurance, especially with Gibson's but any guitar that has a fall will inevitably end up with a cracked or broken headstock. In almost all occasions these can be repaired. Using specific clamping procedures and Titebond wood glue, an aliphatic resin based glue which forms a bond stronger that the wood itself, the repair is structually sound and does not affect the integrity of the guitar.
Below is an example of a bad break and pictures of the repaired guitar. Having a black finish does help conceal the repair but even with a black finish there is no guarantee of exact colour matching.
Buzz Feiten Retrofitting, Electric or Acoustic
Have you ever had trouble tuning your guitar? And who hasn't? The Buzz Feiten Tuning System will put an end to all your tuning problems!
Even when your guitar is freshly intonated with new strings, it still has some standard tuning problems - one chord sounds perfectly in tune while another sounds a bit out. For example, tune an E chord at the first fret so it sounds in tune with itself. Now play the A and D chords and at least one or two notes are sharp or flat. No matter how carefully you tune your guitar, you can't compensate for this 'brick wall' in intonation. Some chords will always sound better than others. The best you can do is play around the bad notes or maybe avoid certain notes and chords altogether. Besides cramping your technique, it's a constant annoyance when performing and especially when recording.
Guitars are designed and built using a standard formula for intonation and nut placement. Each string is intonated only to itself according to a tuning system called 'equal temperament'. Piano tuners abandoned strict equal temperament long ago because it simply is not pleasing to the ear. Instead, pianos are 'stretch tuned' to make them play in pleasing intonation anywhere on the keyboard. The resulting "stretched" tuning is superbly musical, and most importantly in tune.
The Buzz Feiten Intonation System is a stretched tuning for guitars. The results are like a breath of fresh air for guitarists, recording engineers, and all who hear their work. You will find yourself playing chords and intervals where you previously feared to tread! Chords with close intervals - major 7's, 9's, minor 9's, 6/9's, etc. - will sound smoother and less dissonant. Chords high up on the neck with open strings in them are no problem. Your whole guitar will sound clearer, richer, and more relaxed, the result of much greater harmony between all the notes on the fretboard. I am sure that once you play a Feitenized guitar you will never want to play a normally intonated guitar again!
How it works..
The Buzz Feiten Tuning System solves tuning and intonation problems with 2 simple steps:
1. Shelf Nut
The exclusive Buzz Feiten Tuning System¨ (BFTS) Shelf Nut moves the strings closer to the first fret according to a Patented Formula. This eliminates sharp notes at the first three frets.

Top View : Each Shelf Nut is precision machined from high quality bone for superb tonal response. The Buzz Feiten Lightning Bolt Logo is machined into the top of each Shelf Nut for authenticity.

Side View : The strings are moved closer to the first fret a precise distance based on the scale length, fret width and string gauge of your guitar. The slight overhang of our nut (the 'Shelf') does this without altering your guitar in any way. So it's even fine for vintage guitars.
2. Intonation
Your guitar's bridge is adjusted according to the Buzz Feiten Patented Pitch Offsets, creating balanced intonation over the entire fingerboard - every fret - every string.
